    Our Mission

    To promote the science and professional practice of human factors and ergonomics around the world.

    Our Goals 

    • Raise awareness of IFPE and human factors and ergonomics (HFE) through:
      • IFPE website and social media presence
      • IFPE presence as an exhibitor at related professional conferences
      • IFPE social reception at the HFES International Annual Meeting
      • Building relationships with relevant HFE conferences identifying common interest in webinar topics, training courses, etc.
    • Identify and share best practices, experiences, and HFE resources through:
      • Webinars on core competencies for HFE
      • Introductory topical webinars
      • Development/teaching of certification review/refresher courses
      • Ergonomics toolkit (English, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, etc.)
      • Development and update of directory of HFE university programs internationally
      • HFE best practices articles
    • Participate in efforts to address critical challenges and opportunities through:
      • Impact grants for identified needs, especially to developing countries
      • A professional alliance with other HFE organizations, including BCPE and HFES
    • Recognize and promote professionalism in HFE practice through:
      • Dieter W. Jahns Student Practitioner Award
      • Ergonomics Practitioner of the Year Award
      • Mentoring students and early career professionals
      • Special needs funding to struggling HFE practitioners
    • Provide outreach to HFE groups globally through:
      • Ergonomists without Borders
      • International Advisory Committee
